My lully new 50mm 1.8!

I recently upgraded my camera to a Canon 7D. I've had my Lumix for a while and then I got given a kit lens for a Canon. So, what's a girl to do?! I had to get a Canon to make use of my new lens! I got a really good deal through DigitalRev and was not disappointed with their service! I got the camera in record time, 2 days and got a really good deal on a 50mm 1.8 lens too! Over the moon goes a little way to describing my excitement at my new toy! So above is the very first shot taken with my camera and making full use of my lovely new aperture settings!

Some beautiful lilies I was also brought for my birthday and the cake my lovely mummy made me (I know, I am a very lucky lady).

The reason I bought this lens; to practise my portraits and I'm pretty proud of this one!

LOVING the depth of field this lens offers me! And nice to see a lovely bumble bee!

Goan nature

There are so many beautiful plants, colours and textures in Goa so that's whats up next in this post.
To the left is a tree trunk, I love how it's spindly and twigs wrapping around in each other. No prizes for guessing what the one on the right is!

The 'man monkey' scaling the tree effortlessly and our guide Martin, showing us all the spices they grow in India.

Ewwww, I hate spiders! But this was massive and I couldn't not take a photo. I'm not joking, it was the size of a dinner plate!

Flotsam is natural apparently, jetsom is manmade. Every day's a school day huh?!

A mish mash of my mind

Have lots and lots of photos still to go through an edit and an exhibition to prepare for! So here are some photos I've had for a while that don't necessarily fit in with other blog posts. These images are all completely unconnected and are photos I've taken whilst out and about, been at home or wee little experiments. A mish mash of what goes on in my head, if you like. I like, I hope you do!

This is a framed picture we have in our living room and just happened to look over one day to find this exotic looking bug climbing up it. I still have no idea what this little fella is but how perfectly placed was he for this photo? I love it, serendipity strikes again! It just seems so fitting that he put himself right there on our joker and the colours really set each other off. Love it! Thank you Mr Bug. :)

I love how just a boring old pavement can be transformed into an interesting photo. Or at least it is in my opinion! I always like lines and like my lines wonky so I love how this has worked in this image. I don't know if it's just me but when I look at the photo, it looks like a parallelogram instead of the rectangle it is because of the way the lines draw your eyes in. Freaky deaky!

Not a fan of eight legged creatures but I do love looking at their webs, I find them fascinating! This one had set up camp in my back garden. I hope I did his little home justice with my photo.

My mum always told me not to play with my food but I just can't help it!
