Humid Havana Nights

Havana by night is just as amazing as during the day. The locals go out and socialise, holiday makers are out sampling the local delights (rum, rum and more rum!) and there are people salsa dancing where ever you look. But before a night out, I always liked to soak up the last rays of the sun, well, I let my camera soak them up. Amazing how different sunsets are depending on where you are in the world!

This was taken on our balcony. Not a bad vista eh?!

This image hasn't been editing, how amazing is this?!

Love how the clouds look like a mountain range in these two sunset photos!

And would be rude for me not to include a few long exposures!

I'm still here!

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to pop a wee post on here to say hello and let you know I haven't vanished off the face of the earth! It's been an absolutely manic few months personally and as such although I have lots of photos to share, time is pressing and I haven't had chance to put a post up.

That said, here's a little taster from Cuba, just to keep you going! Over 800 photos to go through )about a quarter of the way through!!!!) so you will have to bear with me in the build up to Xmas too but I will be back with posts galore before you know it!

Stay tuned for my post on my favourite images I've taken this year and what's to come next year. Until then, I hope you all have a really special Christmas with loved ones and friends, an amazing New Year and a happy and healthy 2014!

Summertime in Brighton!

Yes you do detect a hint of sarcasm!! ;) It was my birthday in June and my lovely other half took me to Brighton for the day. I haven't been there for years so really looked forward to it, shame the weather was a bit grey. Who'd have thought it in June?! Here are a few of the images I took...

I really like the composition of this photo. I'm pretty sure there wasn't a child who'd been left alone on the beach on a pretty cold and wet day but I like the kind of solitude of it.

Random shabby looking bird that I found endearing.

Honestly can you believe this was taken on 12th June?! It could have been November looking at this photo! Love how the building disappears into a clouds.

Hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed my day there. Must go back soon when it's a bit sunnier mind....!

Night life around London

Went out a few weeks ago with my photo buddy Keith around London to catch it at night. It was pretty cold and very wet but it was fun and actually the wet added to the feel of the night because the lights all reflected in the puddles and raindrops. Here's a few that made the final cut!

Goa by Night

Went to take some photos of the sunset and unfortunately it was a bit hazy so it lasted all of 5 minutes before it disappeared. So I decided to play around with lights from the shacks lining the beach instead. As you do. ;)

And a candle...

Nothing like capturing the mood and feeling of a place with some long exposure shots! And with beautiful palms as silhouettes the opportunity was too good to miss!

Goa by day (2)

More photos of Goa during the day. These photos were taking at Candolim and Mandrem.

And just 5 minutes later a fire started and was spreading in minutes! Some how it didn't end up being too serious but there was A LOT of smoke and even some crazy locals getting in amongst it! You can see them in the photos below. Madness!
