Family Portraits with Reece!

Woah, where has the last month just gone?! Can't believe I haven't put a blog post up for a month, tut tut! Not to say I haven't been busy taking photos though, and busy networking, so keep your eyes peeled over the next few months for some other work. Make sure you keep checking back here to keep up to date with me!

I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful bundle a few weeks ago! Reece, despite being a little poorly, was good as gold and I think he quite enjoyed the limelight, judging by this photo! If you like what you see here, why not get in contact to book your own family portrait?!

Love this one of Mum and Baby!

Awww, I could eat him up!

If you would like to enquire about your own family bespoke photo shoot, please do not hesitate to get in contact! You can use the contact me tab on the page or my contact details are at the top!

Family portraits

Have been practising with my 50mm a lot more recently and did a family photo shoot with the gorgeous Mya, her parents and her grandma. How cute is she?!

And another day, another family, my family! These next ones were taken at my Aunty and Uncle's 50th Wedding Anniversary. My Aunty got into the very dress she wore on her wedding day, how cool is that?! And here she is with her bridesmaids. (My mum is the gorgeous lady second in from the right) :)

Love this one!

And finally the happy couple! So, if you're looking for some lovely shots of your family, get in touch!

Miya

Just a mini post this week. Lots more photos to go through and edit presently, plus some other bits in the pipeline (watch this space!) but wanted to get something up and what better than the lovely Miya, whom I had the pleasure of meeting a few weeks ago! A very happy, bubbly little girl, I wanted her to feel comfortable in her own home rather than going to a (potentially) scary place that she wasn't used to. Here are a selection from the shoot......

If you'd like me to do a mini baby shoot (that's a mini shoot, not a mini baby, although I'm open to all possibilities!) then please get in contact using the contact tab or call me, the number is at the top of the page. I know I've said it one or two times before but I love every bit of feedback I get so please do feel free to drop me a little note. I'd love to hear from you!

Sofia's Christening part 2

Two posts in three days, check me out! This is the second set of images from Sofia's Christening (title gives it away a bit!) and are from the little soiree afterwards. I must remember to lay off the Bolly....

Sofia's Christening 30/09/12

I was asked to take photos at a friends daughters Christening a few weeks ago. I wanted the photos to look natural and, where possible, not staged. Sometimes people freeze when they see you holding a big camera so I tried to blend in to the background, which isn't something I'm used to!

I'm putting them up in two different blog posts. The reason being; I read somewhere that you shouldn't have more than 10 photos in one post because people might get bored! Whilst I'm sure that isn't the case (!), I'm not going to chance it. And in any case, it worked quite well for this set of photos because I have chosen to show you the ones from the service today and the tomorrow I will post a few from the little party after.

More Millie!

To those of you who follow the blog regularly I'd just like to say that you better get used to all the baby photos of my niece you are going to see over the next few years at least! Having said that, I have heard of this new craze where parents take a picture of their child every day to document their lives. I won't be that bad with Millie, but only because I am not lucky enough to see her every day! But this is going to be my own take on that project.

Here she is at 4 weeks.

This is Millie at 6 weeks old. So cute! And looks like she's already getting used to her aunty putting a camera in her face, definitely getting the hang of posing for me. A natural maybe? She has got long legs for a littl'un, could be a model in the making!

And Millie at 9 weeks at her 'Meet the Baby Party'. She had met most people already but we don't need much of an excuse to have a party in our family and I think she liked it too!

What a beaut!

Family portraits

Another first for me, I am trying my hand out at family portraits. Let's face it, it would be silly not to when I meet up with my family so often and there is a new baby around for those picture perfect moments! As I said in a previous post, I didn't want to use my flash with such a young baby but instead use the available light. So, I was really pleased with image below. I hope you like too! This is my brother and our niece. What a natural huh??!

And of course, shots a plenty of the new family together!

I wanted a grainy texture to the images so that they looked more like film, I love using film but unfortunately, at the moment, I don't have the necessary time or equipment to do it nearly as much as I would like to so I adjust the ISO on my DLSR to give me a similar effect. It's the closest I can get to the real deal!

I think it's really important to have a new family in familiar surroundings when doing these shots, everyone is more comfortable and the images look more natural and less staged. And I also don't have my own studio (yet!) so it's the perfect excuse to keep the family at home!

And here are a few of the rest of the family having cuddles! Very, very proud grandparents to the right and an aunty, who also has her own blog (click 'blog' to go to it) and uncle below.
